About PPEI programs

Mental health promotion, prevention and early identification programs (PPEI) are important for three main reasons. First, successful interventions may lead to a reduction in the incidence or new cases of a dual diagnosis. Secondly, successful interventions may lead to a reduction in prevalence rates or number of cases of dual diagnosis at any point in time. Third, early intervention may reduce the future burden of untreated mental health problems.
